Educated at Case Western Reserve University, John merged the analytical world of chemistry with the strategic thinking of economics—a foundation that would serve him well in his medical career. He earned his M.D. from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, setting the stage for a lifelong commitment to healthcare and leadership.

After completing his residency in anesthesiology at NYU Medical Center in 1996, Dr. Azzariti began his tenure at The Valley Hospital, where his expertise in anesthesiology and his capacity for leadership quickly became apparent. He rose to the positions of Associate Director of the hospital's Anesthesiology Department and President of his anesthesiology group, earning the respect and trust of his peers.

His influence transcends his clinical role, as evidenced by his service on the Board of Directors and the House of Delegates of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. His involvement in the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologists in numerous roles including Past President and Executive Committee member underscores his commitment to advancing his field and advocating for patients.

Dr. Azzariti's civic engagement is reflected in his service as a Councilman for Saddle River from 2019 to 2023, as well as his prior contributions to the Borough's Health and Zoning Boards. His approach to governance, like his approach to medicine, is thoughtful, collaborative, and always in the best interests of his community.
